Samos Town
The present day capital of the Island, Samos or Vathy as it was
formally called is a bustling town rich with culture. Above the
harbor town is old Vathi, with narrow meandering streets and traditional
architecture that seems not to have changed for centuries.
Samos harbor is the main port of the Island and has many shops,
restaurants, bars and cafes.
Pythagoras square is the principle square of the town, a popular
area for people to meet and relax. At the center of the square
is a marble statue of a lion, a symbol of the bravery and sacrifices
the Samians have shown in defending their home country.
Gangou is the closest beach to Samos town, and is only a few
minutes walk from the Hotel Ino.
